Increased On Line Traffic

Increased On Line Traffic?

Things to avoid when trying to increase on line traffic:

Don't Buy 'Guaranteed Website Traffic Visitors'

This is one of the oldest scams around. I'm not
talking about pay-per-click advertising here. I'm talking about the ones that "guarantee you 10,000 Visitors in 30 days." Quite often these operators use robots that merely "ping" your site and make it appear as though a live person actually visited your site. They also use pop-ups and exit traffic from porn sites. I doubt very much that these types of "targeted visitors" you had in mind. So save your money. Guaranteed Visitors is a complete waste of time.

Don't Buy 'Submit Your Site To Search Engine Packages'

You don't need to submit your site to search engines. This is another old myth. All the major search engines will index a properly built website in due course, without you or any third party having to submit it. Save your money! Don't buy Submit Your Site To Search Engine Packages!

Don't Join 'Web Rings'

Web Rings can be fun but, you very well could be sending your traffic to your competition. You are giving your visitors the opportunity to click away to another site. You need to be concentrating on keeping your visitors and converting them into sales. Web Rings Are A WASTE of TIME.

Don't Spam Your Website

Don't place a lot of unrelated keywords into your meta tags. Don't create 'invisible text' on your website. For example, If I placed the keywords: increased on line traffic in white and if the background of this page is white, then this would be considered "invisible text" by the search engines. This could get your site banned.

Do Not Participate in 'Link Farms'

What is a Link Farm? A link farm is list of links created and maintained solely for the purpose of constructing links between member sites. For example: One page of links is generated and to be listed on this page it is a requirement to place this page on your website. Search engines see this as a form of spam and can have your site punished or banned.

One thing that I frequently hear when referring to the above 'programs' is the following:"But, it's free." First of all, these aren't free. These are a waste of time and Time IS Money... and your time is precious. For every moment you are spending on these worthless programs and sneaky methods, you could be improving your traffic instead. Secondly, a few of the above mentioned methods are against search engine rules and could get you banned.
